Pakrashi Harmonium Shines at the 45th North American Bengali Conference in Toronto, Canada

Every instrument has a story — and every story becomes music when it finds the right audience.
For us at Pakrashi Harmonium, that moment arrived once again at the 45th North American Bengali Conference (NABC) held in Toronto, Canada.

A Celebration Beyond Borders

When we stepped into the grand halls of NABC 2025, it didn’t feel like we were thousands of miles away from home — it felt like Bengal had come alive right there in Canada. The air was filled with laughter, nostalgia, and, of course, music. From Tagore songs to Indian classical renditions, melodies echoed through the venue — and our harmoniums were right at the heart of it.

Our stall became a meeting place for music lovers — students, professionals, and artists — who shared stories of their connection to the harmonium. Many said they grew up hearing its soulful sound in family gatherings or Rabindra Sangeet rehearsals. Others told us how they had long searched for a portable, reliable harmonium that could travel with them — and found their answer in Pakrashi.

Connecting Hearts Through Craftsmanship

For over seven decades, Pakrashi Harmonium has carried forward the art of handcrafting harmoniums that combine tradition with precision. Meeting our global audience at NABC reminded us why we do what we do — to keep the sound of Indian music alive across generations and continents.

One visitor, Ananya from New York, shared on our Facebook page:

“Meeting the Pakrashi team at NABC was an emotional experience. I grew up learning Rabindra Sangeet on a Pakrashi harmonium my father bought 25 years ago. The same sound, the same feel — it brought back memories of home.”

Throughout the event, our stall became more than just an exhibition space — it became a gathering point. Visitors would stop by, play a tune, share a story, and leave with a smile. One visitor told us,

“I learned my first Rabindra Sangeet on a Pakrashi harmonium back in Kolkata. Seeing your instruments here brought back a flood of memories.”Mrs. Swpna Roy.

Another young musician added, “I’ve always heard about Pakrashi from my teacher. Getting to play one here in Canada felt like connecting with tradition.”

A Super Successful Showcase

Our participation at the 45th North American Bengali Conference was more than a display — it was a celebration of legacy, craftsmanship, and connection. From the moment our instruments took the stage, the response was overwhelming. Musicians appreciated the tonal clarity, students admired the craftsmanship, and many enthusiasts were thrilled to finally experience a Pakrashi scale changer harmonium in person.

The show reaffirmed what we have always believed — that Indian classical instruments, when made with love and precision, speak a universal language. At display was the world first Harmonium & Electronic Tabla combo people just loved the same.

Carrying the Sound of India Forward

As the event concluded, one thing was clear — our journey is not just about making harmoniums, it’s about keeping a tradition alive. Whether it’s for a student’s first lesson or a professional’s performance on an international stage, every Pakrashi harmonium carries the spirit of Indian music to the world. Meeting the really talented musician and performer Devin was the real cherry on the top.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who visited us at NABC 2025. Your warmth, curiosity, and love for music inspire us to continue innovating while preserving our roots.

To everyone who missed us in Toronto — we’ll be coming to more global stages soon. Stay tuned to our website and face-book page for updates, stories, and upcoming events.
